Weekly Expressions Week #6 Joe

When you stare in the direction of a mirror what comes to you? Usually certain thoughts of how you look or the ways the visage before your very eyes could be improved. Sometimes on occasion happenings recalled that were either wonderfully amazing, or the total opposite being horrifically terrifying appear. As the remembrance of good or evil things come to mind, you think on hopefully the nicer occurrences that have sent themselves to you, but that doesn't always work. For in this case, you've hidden the awful from the sight of others, yes, the awful stuff in your mind. Eerily they capture your attention with their dreadful presence, increasing evermore, each step as they enter into the realm-like abyss known also as the brain. Gruesome, filthy, musty, and gross. Then there's ones like lustful, greed, including the ever popular painfully depressing ideas of yesteryear.

Only a matter of time before the senses dull, their task will be nearly completed, with you being taken over by them. Growing faster, numbers of 'em abounding further, just to make sure all of you is in full shame for what is being brought up inside. How the talons, or claws, tearing the love and care right out of you; as a result, leaving you dying from within yourself. Deeper, much deeper they take hopes, dreams, and memories away. This seems the end of all, feeling hate becomes rational, whereas working out a problem becomes rubbish. Oh, not an elegant process, mercy is fluttering towards an all-time low.

Although, perhaps, there's a chance of ceasing said commotion. I mean, what if, those feelings of despair weren't there? The brutish, low-life notions crowding you in could, if possible, disappear. Maybe those conclusions ending in spite and malice will, well, leave!  Time will tell, as the cerebration of which meanders on monotonously.

But wait, all's not shattered thoroughly, there's still a chance. Think of it this way, there's more to living than contemplating dismal articles about your frame. In the mirror take care of the evidence not according to what the scene is awaiting you, rather, understand the reassuring certainty your not dead. Life's hasn't left the figure motionless, or even lifeless! What you see, and what you ponder in your head, is positively decided by nobody else except you alone! You can focus on the person alive, whole, walking and talking. Or, the one with no reason to exist except to have negative perceptions of themselves, the choice is yours. Unless excitement in the moment veers toward becoming this. Destroyed, shattered forever............decided yet? Have you?!!!

  1. What an interesting essay this is! I love the introspective feel of this writing, the almost 'stream of consciousness' feel to it, as though you were looking in a mirror in your mind's eye... very thoughtful, very nicely done Joe! A fresh take on the picture, I think. And yes, I decide almost every day, which perception I will choose in the mirror... ;)
